SUMMER PARTY
Varied programme with workshops, music, performances and snacks
12.30 – 6.00pm
We want to celebrate with you: collectively, in solidarity, as feminists, with art and good friends:
Inspired by our current exhibition, we are devoting the summer festival to artistic and interactive formats on topics such as community, interpersonal connections and hospitality. We invite you to live music, performances, audio walks and workshops with hammocks and paddling pools in the garden as well as readings with music in the exhibition space.
As a cultivated, wealthy white collector and patron of the arts in the 20th century, Hanna Bekker vom Rath lived in a completely different world to ours - and yet, there are strikingly many connections that we as today’s intersectional feminists can draw on. After all, she was emancipated before the term caused a furore in the New Women’s Movement, she exemplified feminist solidarity with the support of her friends, proved her backbone as an organizer of secret exhibitions during National Socialism and believed in the power of “chosen families” with her salons and her always open Blue House. The curators Sonja Eismann and Josephine Papke have therefore developed our accompanying program around the concepts of collectivity - without forgetting a critical dimension.
