Frauen machen Druck
Drop-In Workshop in the Waldraum (forest room)
12.30 – 5.30pm
Print with us! In this creative workshop in the Waldraum, you can try out different printing techniques and print on paper or fabric. The messages play a decisive role: What do you want for our society? Where do you want to put pressure? In the workshop, you will be accompanied by the experts from Frauen machen Druck.
Since the beginning of feminist movements, the mastery of printing techniques has played a prominent role: thanks to them, not only can one’s own text and design ideas be reproduced quickly and effectively, but creative and rebellious messages can also be conveyed to the public. In this workshop in the Waldraum, a wide variety of techniques can be tried out under the guidance of the Berlin collective Frauen Machen Druck: Marking materials with tools, using natural structures and shapes or experimenting with colours and overlays. We print on paper, on fabric and with linocuts. The printing workshop is open to all interested parties from the age of six, children accompanied by adults or responsible persons.
Frauen Machen Druck is an open network of over 100 women* of different nationalities, ages and social backgrounds. We are united by graphics and the joy of linocutting together. Through our weekly meetings, we feel empowered as women and migrants who support each other as an anti-racist and intersectional network, learn from each other and politicise ourselves by living together in diversity.
