Free weaving in space
1.00 – 4.00pm
With Teresa Fagbohoun (Fashion Designer)
We experiment with threads and pieces of fabric freely in the space: the so-called warp and weft threads are stretched between the walls, ceiling, chairs and the participants, and together we create a wild web in the Waldraum space in the Brücke-Museum. Weaving is a craft activity that can create a lot of joy through the experience of self-efficacy and immediate results. In this workshop, we take a playful approach to weaving with the help of warp threads, which are stretched criss-cross through the open space and can be transformed into a textile surface with self-made weft threads. Participants are welcome to bring their own fabrics or fabric remnants. This workshop is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12 and their accompanying adults. You are welcome to bring old clothes, fabric remnants or wool.
Although the workshop will be mainly in German, we mention the languages spoken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t feel confident in German, don’t worry — you can still take part. We are committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our events.
