DESCRIPTION:With Teresa Fagbohoun (Fashion Designer)\n\nWe experiment with
threads and pieces of fabric freely in the space: the so-called warp and w
eft threads are stretched between the walls\, ceiling\, chairs and the par
ticipants\, and together we create a wild web in the Waldraum space in the
Brücke-Museum. Weaving is a craft activity that can create a lot of joy t
hrough the experience of self-efficacy and immediate results. In this work
shop\, we take a playful approach to weaving with the help of warp threads
\, which are stretched criss-cross through the open space and can be trans
formed into a textile surface with self-made weft threads. Participants ar
e welcome to bring their own fabrics or fabric remnants. This workshop is
aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12 and their accompanying adul
ts. You are welcome to bring old clothes\, fabric remnants or wool.\n\nAlt
hough the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the languages spo
ken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t feel conf
ident in German\, don’t worry — you can still take part. We are committed
to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our eve
nts.\n\nTeresa Fagbohoun (born 1986 in Mainz) works as a freelance fashion
designer and teaches at UdK\, Berlin University of the Arts. Since gradua
ting from UdK herself\, she has worked in the international clothing and a
ccessories sector and as the founder of her bag label Tabu. As part of her
teaching practice\, she explores the potential of fashion design from a p
ower-critical perspective and looks at ways a practicing designer can tack
le the challenges of the contemporary fashion industry while upholding soc
ial justice. After living in São Paulo for many years\, she is now a paren
 t in Berlin.
