ConstructLab
Waldraum (Forest Room)
A room in the middle of the forest: the international architecture, design and art collective collective ConstructLab designed the Waldraum (forest room) as a special place for experiencing nature, social encounters and artistic production. The open and transparent construction allows an unobstructed view of the surrounding nature. For ConstructLab, situational thinking and local work were the focus of the implementation: for example, most of the wood comes from the garden of the Brücke-Museum and the surrounding forests; and the greenhouse is a recycled industrial product. The workforce consisted of the multi-disciplinary and international team of ConstructLab, cooperations with companies in the neighbourhood - the LebensWerkGemeinschaft and the non-profit training centre GFBM, as well as traditional trades.
An extensive accompanying educational programme is planned to accompany the Waldraum.
