Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's Swiss Years – Art and Reception
Lecture by Dr. Karin Schick

Dr. Karin Schick will be speaking about Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s Swiss work and its reception in Germany and Switzerland within the framework of the exhibtion Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. The Swiss Years. Masterpieces from the Collection of E.W. Kornfeld. The art historian contributed a scientific article to the current issue of the Brücke-Archiv.

The lecture will take place on the occasion of the launch of the accompanying publication Brücke-Archiv 24. The founding director of the museum, Leopold Reidemeister, established the publication series as early as 1967. It is now being revived after a ten-year break. The current issue on Kirchner’s Swiss years is dedicated to the passionate collector and Kirchner connoisseur Eberhard W. Kornfeld, whose generous loans made the exhibition of the artist’s late work possible.

Dr. Karin Schick has been in charge of the Collection Modern Art at the Hamburger Kunsthalle since 2012. Prior to this, she worked for six years as Director of the Kirchner Museum Davos, Switzerland.

All public events are in German language, admission is included in the admission fee.
