Art Education and Application Training (DE/EN)
For migrant freelance artists

With Peira (Chris Herzog and Alma Wellner Bou) accompanied by Ximena G. Toro (assistant curator, Brücke-Museum)

Do you have an idea for an art education project and want to learn how to develop a concept and apply for funding, but you don’t know where to start? This two-day training course provides theoretical and practical knowledge on applying for funding, financial planning, and the legal frameworks relevant to your project.
Next, you will work in pairs to develop an educational concept for a workshop as a practical exercise. This should be based on the Brücke-Museum’s educational approach and designed with the upcoming exhibition in mind. All concepts will be discussed together during the second session. One concept will then be chosen to be implemented at the Brücke Museum, for which a budget will be provided. The group will collectively decide which concept to realise.
The course is conducted in German. High-level language proficiency is not required. However, you must understand German. If necessary, you are welcome to speak English. The main thing is that you understand the content.

Dates:
Fr, 27.3. and Fr, 24.4., 12–5.30 pm
It is required that you can attend on both dates to participate in the course.

Where does the workshop take place?
The workshop will take place on site in the Waldraum (forest room) of the Brücke-Museum. Unfortunately, online or hybrid participation is not possible.

Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is primarily aimed at artists or creative professionals with a migrant background. Priority will be given to individuals who face particular challenges in their work in the cultural sector due to their nationality, language skills, or cultural background. If there are still places available, freelancers without a migrant background may also participate.

Registration
If you are interested in attending, we kindly ask you to register due to the limited number of participants. Please note that each person must register individually. Peira (Berlin/Leipzig/Vienna) develops collaborative art projects. The instructors, Chris Herzog and Alma Wellner Bou, are active members of the artist collective Peira, which focuses on interdisciplinary art projects. Their work addresses socio-political issues, cultural participation, and collaborative processes. They are particularly committed to the visibility and promotion of marginalised perspectives in the arts and culture sector. In addition to their artistic practice, they regularly give workshops and seminars (production, dramaturgy and dealing with the bureaucracy surrounding independent project work, community music - low-threshold music production, cultural education, socially engaged art and much more).
