Workshop, Waldraum, Holiday course

Moving spaces with images
In cooperation with Kunsthaus Dahlem (GER/EN)

Holiday workshop for children aged 8 to 12. With Karen Michelsen Castañón and Hagar Ophir (artists and art educators)

Imagine: colourful images transform an entire room – and that room becomes your own stage! That’s exactly what we’ll do together!

In this workshop, you’ll design the forest room at the Brücke-Museum with poems, theatre, music and movement. You’ll learn in a playful way how small ideas can turn into great works of art. What you’ll do: You will cut and paste colourful collages from magazines and pictures; paint and draw pictures with ink and colours; invent exciting stories that you absolutely want to tell; move through the museum and let your imagination run free. Step by step, the room will be transformed by your art!

Your inspiration: Artist Karl Schmidt-Rottluff will show you how to create freely with colours and shapes. And Emilio Vedova and composer Luigi Nono will teach you how music and huge pictures can bring a stage to life.

The holiday workshop can be held simultaneously in English and German! If you don’t feel confident in German, don’t worry—you can still take part.

We are committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our events.
