In Dialogue - Community

Two experts exchange their views on the central themes of Brücke art and connect them to current questions about art, art history and activism. With Viviane Tabach (curator and art mediator) and Dalila Daut (museologist and art mediator)

What dynamics arise when art is created collectively? Viviane Tabach and Dalila Daut invite you to join a conversation about art, networks and collective practice. Using three works from the exhibition, we will examine how the Brücke artists collaborated, what conflicts challenged them and how collective artistic practice has changed today. Key themes are focused on in this discussion: Networks and their significance then and now, and collective art in a diverse society - in a dialogue between art education and artistic perspectives, we question how a community is formed in art.

Viviane Tabach is a Brazilian curator, art educator and artist based in Berlin. Her practice focuses on collaboration and methodologies grounded in a decolonial perspective. She investigates strategies at the intersection of art, curating, and education, and is particularly interested in how art institutions can function as meaningful spaces for learning and exchange, actively engaging diverse audiences. Tabach runs the multidisciplinary platform Co-Making Matters at the Haus der Statistik and is currently a guest lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Dalila Daut (born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is an art educator and researcher with an interdisciplinary background in art studies, art history, and museology.  Her focus is on postcolonial narratives. She combines theoretical knowledge and research with practical, participatory methods to rethink institutional sites as places for negotiating identity, memory, and belonging. Daut is committed to creating spaces for a collective memory culture that actively shapes, challenges, and reflects societal change.
