Perfect Match with Valentin José Kammel
6.00 – 7.00pm
One hundred twenty Berliners have each selected a work of art from the Brücke-Museum collection. In a Perfect Match, some of the co-curators talk to museum staff about their connection to Brücke. The collection curator of the Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation, Christiane Remm, invites the wood restorator Valentin José Kammel to a conversation to share his impressions.
Valentin José Kammel from Berlin is a trained wood sculptor who also studied wood restoration. He has been working with historical production techniques for over a decade. This knowledge enables him to restore wooden objects to the highest standard and produce high-quality reconstructions. He also uses traditional techniques for new decorative art objects such as sculptures, ornamental carvings, furniture, libraries, wall panelling and lathe-made products such as bowls, plates, boxes, ballpoint pens, children’s toys, staircase steps, etc.
Participation in public events is included with museum admission. No advance registration is required.
