Talk, Guided tour

In Dialogue - Art studios

Two experts exchange their views on the central themes of Brücke art and connect them to current questions about art, art history and activism. With Kassandra Nakas (art historian) and Thesea Rigou Efstathopoulos (artist and art educator)

Studio views appear in some of the Brücke artists’ works. After moving to Berlin, they often lived in their small studios, decorating them and welcoming friends there. Art historian Kassandra Nakas and artist Thesea Rigou Efstathopoulos invite you to talk about studios and how they have changed over the last 120 years. They will also share insights into the working conditions of the Brücke artists and discuss the current challenges and opportunities of artistic production. The talk will also reflect on how these spaces have adapted to social changes over time, what role certain media play in this and what significance the studio still has today as a physical space for the creative process.

Kassandra Nakas is an art historian.
Thesea Rigou Efstathopoulos is an artist and art educator.
