Women Print Bridges (GER/AR/ES/PT/EN)
Linocut workshop for those who identify as women

With Frauen Machen Druck (Open workshop space for women / Daniela Herig, Fatima Musaad Abdelrahman, Ximena G. Toro and Yili Rojas)

The Brücke artists came together as a group to challenge academic art. But what other reasons are there for connecting through art? Frauen machen Druck invites you to a workshop where you will get to know lino printing not only as a graphic technique but also as a political and collaborative tool. This practice brings together women from different backgrounds, creating spaces for resistance, empowerment and exchange. During the workshop, you will experiment with lino printing; you will also learn how printmaking can serve as a medium of resistance and how it can create new narratives through collaboration. You will also get to know our network.  Although the workshop will be mainly in German, we mention the languages spoken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t feel confident in German, don’t worry — you can still take part.

Frauen machen Druck is an open and non-commercial printing workshop space for those who identify as women in Berlin. Women are actively involved in co-administration and co-organisation. The participants come from different linguistic backgrounds, social classes and age groups and have different national and migrant biographies. It is a network of more than 100 women. Frauen machen Druck has already had two exhibitions at the Käthe Kollwitz Museum and Savvy Contemporary in Berlin. Their most recent exhibition, Frauen porträtieren Frauen (Women Portraying Women), was shown in Berlin, Oaxaca, Cairo and Ghent.

Due to the limited number of participants, please register here. Participation in public events is included with the museum admission. Meeting point: ticket counter in the foyer.
