Tímea Junghaus is an art historian and curator of contemporary art who belongs to the Sinti*zze minority. She is the founding director of the European Roma Cultural Foundation, an independent foundation that created Gallery8 - Roma Contemporary Art Space. In 2014, Gallery8 was awarded the Katalizátor Prize as well as the Otto Pankok Prize by the Foundation for the Welfare of Rom*nja, founded by German writer and Nobel Prize winner for Literature Günter Grass. Junghaus is currently pursuing a PhD in cultural theory at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. Since 2010, she has been a member of the research group on the vocabulary of decolonialism and the study of insurgent genealogies at the Institute of Art and Cultural Studies of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Tímea Junghaus is the executive director of the European Roma Institute for Art and Culture (ERIAC).
