Die Lücke

With their walk-in reading room Center of Unfinished Business, C& reveal the diverse repercussions of colonialism that still resonate to this day. As lecturers at the UdK Institute for Art in Context, they invite students to augment the Whose Expression? exhibition with temporary artistic interventions:

Die Lücke. An intervention by Nina Berfelde, Valerie Göhring, Valerie Ludwig, Marcel Heise and Max Altenburg 12–7 pm at the exhibition Whose Expression? at Brücke-Museum (DE/EN). In a pop-up copy shop in the exhibition space, the actors of the intervention The Gap produce zines from copied objects from the collection, art catalogues, trivial literature and academic texts. In a performative way, publications are created in which the instrumentalisation and thematisation of gaps is immanent, in that their authors first ask: How do we act within an art collection, between knowledge but also silence, reappraisal and renewal?

Nina Berfelde is an interdisciplinary artist with a professional focus on cultural anthropology, documentary film, video installation and photography. Contextualisation and non-linearity of history and events are always in the foreground. www.ninaberfelde.de

He is also part of the online collective “eat-art.biz”, which deals with the conditions of artistic existence. He is currently a Master’s student at the Institut für Kunst im Kontext at the UdK Berlin.
