DESCRIPTION:Two experts exchange their views on the central themes of the e
xhibition Swedish Modernism and connect them to current questions about ar
t\, research and society. With the Feminist Health Care Research Group (Ju
lia Bonn and Inga Zimprich) and Lotte Leerschool (artist and art mediator)
\n\nHow do artistic practice and working in the artworld affect our mental
health? This was also an important issue for the artists of Swedish moder
nism. Amid political upheaval\, discrimination\, exclusion\, and social ch
allenges\, they faced psychological pressures of their own. This guided to
ur will also explore how crises can be addressed collectively.\n\nAs an ar
tistic research project\, the Feminist Health Care Research Group (FHCRG)
develops exhibitions and workshops and publishes zines. The group’s goal
is to create spaces where vulnerability can be shared\, where (access) nee
ds take centre stage\, and where the logic of competition in the art world
is broken down. The FHCRG questions the internalised\, ableist understand
ing of productivity that is rewarded in the artworld.\n\nLotte Leerschool
is a Berlin-based artist whose practice is focused on painting. Following
her studies as a master student at the Düsseldorf Academy of Art\, she com
pleted an MFA in painting at Bard College in Berlin.\n\nWe are committed t
o respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our even
 ts.
