DESCRIPTION:With Thesea Rigou Efstathopoulos (artist and art educator) and
Nadja Raszewski (Dance Educator at TanzTangenten\, dance school in Steglit
z)\n\nThis workshop invites participants to explore the museum’s current e
xhibitions through movement and physical engagement. Individual and group
exercises provide opportunities to respond with one’s own body to the work
s from the Brücke-Museum collection and to those created by contemporary a
rtists. Moving from inside the museum out into its grounds\, the workshop
spans the exhibition Nature… In the Museum and the ecological nature trail
Art… Beneath Pine Trees. For this session\, the museum is opening outside
its regular visiting hours to give the participants a more peaceful and i
ntimate experience of the exhibitions. The workshop is open to people of a
ll abilities\; no previous experience is required. Please wear comfortable
\, movement-friendly clothing and shoes. Parts of the workshop take place
on the outdoor nature trail\, which is an unpaved path and is not barrier-
free. The meeting point is the ticket counter in the museum foyer.\n\nAlth
ough the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the languages spok
en by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t feel confi
dent in German\, don’t worry — you can still take part.\n\nThe workshop co
ncept was originally commissioned by KW Institute for Contemporary Art and
developed by Thesea Rigou and Alvin Collantes\, in cooperation with Alexi
a Manzano\n\nNadja Raszewski (b. 1963 in West Berlin) has worked as a chor
eographer and dance educator for over 35 years. Her practice combines a wi
de range of dance techniques with somatic methods\, foregrounding improvis
ation and collective movement while looking beyond the distinctions betwee
n professional and amateur. Raszewski has created numerous productions wit
h people whose bodies and life paths are highly diverse\; she directs the
TanzTangente as well as the certificate course “Creating Dance in Art and
Education” at the UdK Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts).\n\nThesea Ri
gou Efstathopoulos (b. 1997 in Cyprus) has been a freelance art mediator a
t the Brücke-Museum Berlin for over three years. Their artistic practice s
pans printmaking\, ceramics\, drawing\, installation and participatory act
ivities\, often as part of the artist duo Helena &amp\; The Sea. Focusing
on material cycles and socio-ecological kinship\, Thesea approaches art me
diation as an embodied\, relational process that involves working with the
body as much as with words.\n\nWe are committed to respectful interaction
. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our events.
