DESCRIPTION:With Mirsini Artakianou (artist)\, Jenny Contreras (artist) und
Camilla Spadaccino (project assistant)\n\nWhile the women wove\, their wo
rk often remained unseen. Which of your creations remain unseen? Even toda
y\, sewing and embroidery are often considered “feminine” activities. Yet
these techniques continue to be passed down through families and communiti
es. This workshop offers a space for people to come together\, exchange st
ories\, and create collectively. Everyone is invited to contribute through
fabric\, text\, or form — no prior experience is necessary. Come along an
d join in!\n\nThis workshop was developed as part of the training course
Art education and application training programme for migrant freelance art
ists. The idea was conceived there and chosen to be included in the public
programme of the current exhibition.\n\nCamilla Spadaccino (born in Milan
in 1996) is a project assistant in cultural production. Her work focuses
on socially engaged artistic practice and performance. She draws inspirati
on from DIY culture and artist-run spaces.\n\nMirsini Artakianou is an art
ist and independent art educator. In her work\, she primarily creates inst
allations that combine ceramics and textiles and explore themes that are b
est sensed rather than explicitly stated: structures\, architectural forms
\, and the power of the sensory. She is currently pursuing a master’s degr
ee in “Art in Context” at the Berlin University of the Arts.\n\nJenny Cont
reras (born in Bogotá in 1992) is an artist and philosopher. She views art
as a space for exploring ethical and political questions. Her media inclu
de video\, installation\, and performance. She is studying “Art in Context
” at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK).\n\nWe are committed to respe
ctful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our events.
