DESCRIPTION:With Yili Rojas (artist)\n\nPrintmaking held a special signific
ance for the Brücke artists. It enabled them to stay in contact with their
circle of supporters and to consolidate themselves as a group. For exampl
 e\, they designed signets\, envelopes\, annual cards\, membership cards\,
posters\, and much more. In this open workshop\, we experiment with the wo
odcut as a collective experience. Today\, we live in a society that is cha
racterised by individuality. What would it be like to think\, feel and hav
e fun together through printing? Is it possible to put aside individual au
thorship and create an image together? At the beginning of the workshop\,
we rely on a collective process to choose a theme from the museum’s surrou
ndings. As a group\, we create a large-scale work in two colours that expr
esses our shared reflection and creativity. \n\nNo prior knowledge is nece
ssary. Although the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the lan
guages spoken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t
feel confident in German\, don’t worry — you can still take part. We are
committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place
at our events.\n\nYili Rojas was born in Bogotá (Colombia) and has been wo
rking as an artist and educational instructor in political education in Be
rlin since 2010. Her focus in political education is on (post-)colonialism
\, anti-discrimination\, anti-racism\, and the empowerment of migrants and
BIPoCs. As an artist\, she works with drawing\, printmaking\, performance
 \, installation\, and poetic texts.
