DESCRIPTION:With Meeting Lines (artistic collective / Marcos García Pérez a
nd Carla Schliephack)\n\nDrawing can be so easy\, but it takes practice. I
n this workshop\, you will find new dynamism and movement for the lines yo
u draw – much like a gym workout for your creative drawing muscles. The ar
tist duo Meeting Lines (Marcos García Pérez and Carla Schliephack) challen
ge you with a variety of exercises to break your (visual) habits and help
you move beyond creative blocks. More than a century ago\, the Brücke arti
sts showed us how when they invented the “quarter-hour nude”\, in which ra
pid sketching and a quick change of positions became their motto. We invit
e you to a workout that includes various exercises\, such as line cardio\,
  teamwork\, sprints\, focus\, inspiration\, stretching\, and meditation.
\n\nAlthough the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the langua
ges spoken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t fe
el confident in German\, don’t worry — you can still take part.\n\nWe are
committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place
at our events.\n\nMarcos García Pérez and Carla Schliephack make up the Be
rlin-based art duo Meeting Lines. Together\, they investigate critical col
lective processes at the intersection of human/environment and self-educat
ion/art. To this end\, they develop site-specific drawing practices that i
nvolve copying\, improvising and playing. The reuse of materials is centra
l to their arts education work as well as their artistic practice.\n\nMarc
os García Pérez studied fine arts at the Universidad Politecnica de Valenc
ia and graduated from the UdK Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts) in 20
20 in the Art in Context programme. Since then\, he has worked as an indep
endent artist and art educator.\n\nAfter earning a B.A. in fashion design\
, Carla Schliephack was a master student in the Sculpture Department at th
e weißensee academy of art berlin\, a programme she continues to promote.
Through further training as a systemic coach\, she now works as an art edu
cator and freelance artist in Berlin.
