DESCRIPTION:With Meeting Lines (artistic collective / Marcos García Pérez a
nd Carla Schliephack)\n\nWelcome to our open workshop\, a space designed f
or creative dialogue with a variety of materials. Here\, your hands can ex
plore\, lines can come to life\, and materials can take shape. Much like t
he Brücke artists\, we find that creating together stimulates the imaginat
ion. We experiment\, try things out and experience art processes together.
About the Co-Crafting Club: For each exhibition\, we showcase a new craft
technique inspired by the current presentation. We use a diverse range of
  materials for printing\, folding\, tearing\, glueing\, sewing and paintin
g\, but most importantly\, we use them to transform ideas!\n\nThis event s
eries is part of the FREI RAUM KUNST youth programme. It welcomes multilin
gualism as well as the promotion and exchange of young people from all bac
kgrounds. Although the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the
languages spoken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you do
 n’t feel confident in German\, don’t worry—you can still take part.\n\nWe
are committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no pl
ace at our events.\n\nMarcos García Pérez and Carla Schliephack make up th
e Berlin-based art duo Meeting Lines. Together\, they investigate critical
collective processes at the intersection of human/environment and self-ed
ucation/art. To this end\, they develop site-specific drawing practices th
at involve copying\, improvising and playing. The reuse of materials is ce
ntral to their arts education work as well as their artistic practice.\n\n
Marcos García Pérez studied fine arts at the Universidad Politecnica de Va
lencia and graduated from the UdK Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts) i
n 2020 in the Art in Context programme. Since then\, he has worked as an i
ndependent artist and art educator.\n\nAfter earning a B.A. in fashion des
ign\, Carla Schliephack was a master student in the Sculpture Department a
t the weißensee academy of art berlin\, a programme she continues to promo
te. Through further training as a systemic coach\, she now works as an art
educator and freelance artist in Berlin.
