It emphasises the intricate con nections between urban development\, colonialism\, migration and racism. I n Zehlendorf\, the tour focuses on the development of the garden suburb\, a type of residential area that emerged in the mid-19th century. These sub urbs were modelled on historical rural building styles\, but also incorpor ated modern infrastructure such as sewage\, railways and cars. The garden suburb offered the bourgeoisie protection from industrialised cities\, the working class\, and the exploited colonial world. Next\, we move on to So nnenallee in Neukölln\, where we examine the reality of migration today\, displacement and structural discrimination. We will explore how racist str uctures operate\, where they become visible (or invisible) in daily life\, and the impact they have on migrant communities’ lives and participation. \n\nThe tour is aimed at anyone interested in exploring the political func tions of architecture and interior design\, as well as the social conditio ns of racism and exclusion.\n\nMohammed Ali Chahrour (he/him) is a social scholar who specialises in migration\, anti-racism and diversity\, and has published on these topics. He also has several years of experience as a c ounsellor for victims of right-wing and racist violence. He currently work s as a political education trainer and gives workshops and seminars on iss ues of intercultural and transcultural coexistence. In autumn 2023\, he co -edited the anthology Generalverdacht: Wie mit dem Mythos Clankriminalität Politik gemacht wird (General Suspicion: How the Myth of Clan Crime is Us ed to Make Politics).\n\nPhilipp Krüpe (He/him) is a research assistant at the Institute for the Fundamentals of Modern Architecture (IGmA) at the U niversity of Stuttgart. He publishes work on topics related to architectur e and media theory for publications such as ARCH+\, Baumeister\, the Goeth e-Institut\, and various cultural institutions in Germany. Together with S tephan Trüby\, he is responsible for the research project “Rechte Räume” ( www.rechteraeume.net). His current research focuses on the political media and affective history of modern architectural theory and production.\n\n \n\nAnna Yeboah (she/her) is an architect and curator. In her exhibitions\ , lectures and interdisciplinary projects\, she deals with power systems i n built space\, memory culture and the decolonisation of architectural and cultural praxis. From 2020 to 2024\, she coordinated the pilot project De koloniale Erinnerungskultur in der Stadt - Decolonial Culture of Remembran ce in the City for the Initiative of Black People in Germany e.V.\, which deals with the critical processing\, mediation and remembrance of colonial ism originating in Berlin. As part of the Nicht Einfach (Not Easy) special ists team\, Anna Yeboah conceived the content of this event together with the artist.\n\nDeveloped by Ahmad Dakhnous\, Tahir Della\, Anna Yeboah and Yehudit Yinhar\, accompanied by Pegah Byroum-Wand and Daniela Bystron.
