It was initiated by Jouanna Hassoun and Shai Hoffman n. The project addresses the significant challenge of facilitating discuss ion on this topic and is situated at the intersection of political educati on and encounter pedagogy.\n\nParticipants engage in conversation about Is rael and Palestine in a “Braver Space”\, designed and moderated by an Isra eli and a Palestinian.\n\nAhmad Dakhnous (he/him) is a political scholar a nd political education consultant. He works with multipliers on the topic of Israel/Palestine and how it is negotiated and represented in Germany. H e works with schoolchildren as part of the Trialogue project. Together wit h Johanna Voß\, he also organises the Denkwerkstatt project – critical pol itical education on Palestine and Israel after 7 October. Other areas of f ocus include racism and antisemitism\, human rights\, displacement and mig ration\, and the politics of memory. As part of the Nicht Einfach (Not eas y) specialists team\, Ahmad Dakhnous designed the content of this event.\n \nLili Zahavi (she/her) is a filmmaker with roots in both Israel and the f ormer German Democratic Republic. Having grown up in Berlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall\, she is at home in both worlds. She studied film dire ction at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and currently works as an arti stic consultant on projects for young people promoting pluralism and democ racy\, and combatting racism and antisemitism. She is also involved in the Trialogpatin der Gesellschaft im Wandel (Trialogue Mentor for a Changing Society) initiative.\n\nThis event is spart of the pluralistic Discourse P rogramme Not Easy: It invites dialogue on plural perspectives within conte mporary German memory discourse and social coexistence. Starting from the life and work of the artist Irma Stern (1894–1966)\, it explores the compl ex entanglements of antisemitism\, colonialism and racism. The programme e ncourages participants to expand their perspective on Stern’s ambivalent e xperiences between persecution and exile as a Jewish German woman\, as wel l as her privileges as a white South African.\n\nDeveloped by Ahmad Dakhno us\, Tahir Della\, Anna Yeboah and Yehudit Yinhar\, accompanied by Pegah B yroum-Wand and Daniela Bystron.
