With Karen Michelse n Castañón and Gudrun Ingratubun (visual artists)\n\nWhat stories do artwo rks and plants tell? First\, we look at the works in the Brücke-Museum\, i n which nature plays an important role. Then\, we explore the surrounding Grunewald forest together\, observing its diverse shapes and textures and collecting leaves. We make sketches\, listen to the voices of trees and bi rds\, and learn about the evolving history of this forest. Which picture\, sculpture\, and plant speak to you the most? With leaves from the plants of the Grunewald forest\, you will create individual and collaborative pri nts with linocut. We begin with ecoprinting\, using plant leaves\, rusty w ater\, and hot steam to imprint their fine details onto the paper. Then\, we mix lino printing inks to bring our ideas to life on paper through lino cut printing.\n\nPlease wear work clothes that can get dirty and are suita ble for outdoor use. And bring a snack for the break! Although the worksho p will be mainly in German\, we mention the languages spoken by the facili tators to make it more accessible. If you don't feel confident in German\, don't worry—you can still take part.\n\nKaren Michelsen Castañón (born in Lima\, Peru) is a visual artist\, filmmaker and freelance researcher. Her work deals with the way (colonial) histories are told and includes short films\, photographs and textiles. She questions how hegemonic and invisibl e stories are re-staged in our daily lives and how this relates to current social events.\n\nGudrun Ingratubun (born 1969) studied agriculture and E nglish and lived in Indonesia for a long time. Since returning to Berlin\, she has been translating Indonesian literature into German. As an artist\ , she deals with social spaces\, colonial structures\, the climate crisis and collective mourning. Her botanical prints (Ecoprints) on paper and fab ric\, mixed media works and planted upcycling installations at documenta f ifteen in Kassel and in Berlin-Charlottenburg invite dialogue and collecti ve action at ear level. Her most recent works deal with the colonial histo ries of trees of the gods\, indigo\, za’atar\, pines and olive trees.
