Art Education and Application Training for Freelance Artists (DE/EN)
for individuals with migrant backgrounds

With Peira (Chris Herzog and Alma Wellner Bou) accompanied by Ximena G. Toro (assistant curator, Brücke-Museum)

Do you have an idea for an art education project and want to learn how to develop a concept and apply for funding, but you don’t know where to start? This two-day training course provides theoretical and practical knowledge on applying for funding, financial planning, and the legal frameworks relevant to your project. As a practical exercise, you will develop an educational concept for a workshop, which will be discussed in the second session. A selected concept will later be realised at the Brücke-Museum, with a budget for it. The group jointly decides which concept will be realised.
The course is conducted in German. High-level language proficiency is not required. However, you must understand German. If necessary, you are welcome to speak English. The main thing is that you understand the content. It is required that you can attend on both dates to participate in the course.
Dates: Fri, 11 April and Fri, 16 May, 1-6 pm (two-day training course)

Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is primarily aimed at artists with migration backgrounds. If there is still capacity, freelancers without migration backgrounds may also participate.

Peira (Berlin/Leipzig/Vienna) develops collaborative art projects.
The instructors, Chris Herzog and Alma Wellner Bou, are active members of the artist collective Peira, which focuses on interdisciplinary art projects. Their work addresses socio-political issues, cultural participation, and collaborative processes. They are particularly committed to the visibility and promotion of marginalised perspectives in the arts and culture sector. In addition to their artistic practice, they regularly give workshops and seminars (production, dramaturgy and dealing with the bureaucracy surrounding independent project work, community music - low-threshold music production, cultural education, socially engaged art and much more).
