In this workshop\, we wi ll creatively design Berlin with needle and thread. Inspired by the extrao rdinary collaboration between the weaver Lise Gujer and the Brücke artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner\, we will learn how drawings were transformed into i mpressive textile art. We want to try out Gujer's distinctive way of worki ng\, a mixture of art\, comic and fabric\, together and think about it fur ther.\n\nThe workshop will take place in the Waldraum on the side of the G runewald forest - a special place where nature and art meet. Inspired by G ujer's brightly colored tapestries\, which focus on life between the city and the countryside\, we will create imaginative everyday scenes. Used tex tiles and threads will be used to create lively scenes that interweave mem ories and visions of the future. By combining embroidery\, drawing and pai nting\, we give shape to your ideas for a Berlin worth living in.\n\nMarco s García Pérez and Carla Schliephack make up the Berlin-based art duo Meet ing Lines. Together\, they investigate critical collective processes at th e intersection of human/environment and self-education/art. To this end\, they develop site-specific drawing practices that involve copying\, improv ising and playing. The reuse of materials is central to their arts educati on work as well as their artistic practice.\n\nMarcos García Pérez studied fine arts at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and graduated from t he UdK Berlin in 2020 in the Art in Context programme. Since then\, he has worked as an independent artist and art educator.\n\nAfter earning a B.A. in fashion design\, Carla Schliephack was a master student in the Sculptu re Department at the weißensee academy of art berlin\, a programme she con tinues to promote. Through further training as a systemic coach\, she now works as an art educator and freelance artist in Berlin.
