DESCRIPTION:With Meeting Lines (artistic collective / Marcos García Pérez a
nd Carla Schliephack)\n\nDrawing can be so easy\, but it takes practice. I
n this workshop\, you will find new dynamism and movement for the lines yo
u draw – much like a gym workout for your creative drawing muscles. The ar
tist duo Meeting Lines(Marcos García Pérez and Carla Schliephack) challeng
e you with a variety of exercises to break your (visual) habits and help y
ou move beyond creative blocks. More than a century ago\, the Brücke artis
ts showed us how when they invented the “quarter-hour nude”\, in which rap
id sketching and a quick change of positions became their motto. We invite
you to a workout that includes various exercises\, such as line cardio\,
 teamwork\, sprints\, focus\, inspiration\, stretching\, and meditation. Al
though the workshop will be mainly in German\, we mention the languages sp
oken by the facilitators to make it more accessible. If you don’t feel con
fident in German\, don’t worry — you can still take part.\n\nMarcos García
Pérez and Carla Schliephack make up the Berlin-based art duo Meeting Line
 s. Together\, they investigate critical collective processes at the inters
ection of human/environment and self-education/art. To this end\, they dev
elop site-specific drawing practices that involve copying\, improvising an
d playing. The reuse of materials is central to their arts education work
as well as their artistic practice.\n\nMarcos García Pérez studied fine ar
ts at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and graduated from the UdK B
erlin in 2020 in the Art in Context programme. Since then\, he has worked
as an independent artist and art educator.\n\nAfter earning a B.A. in fash
ion design\, Carla Schliephack was a master student in the Sculpture Depar
tment at the weißensee academy of art berlin\, a programme she continues t
o promote. Through further training as a systemic coach\, she now works as
an art educator and freelance artist in Berlin.
