Shortly after meeting him\, she began to produce large-form at tapestries based on his designs\, which inspired Kirchner as a “new way of painting”. The tapestries have often been attributed to Kirchner alone \, without any reference to the weaver. However\, Gujer's contribution is never just a technical realization\, but always has an artistic component as well.\n\nThe exhibition and its accompanying publication are being deve loped in close collaboration with the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur. The goal o f both exhibitions—in Chur and Berlin—is to shine a spotlight on Lise Guje r and bring her out of Kirchner's shadow. This marks the first presentatio n in over 20 years dedicated to the work of the textile artist.\n\nThe dir ectors of both museums and exhibitions provide insights into their joint w ork and the aim of showing Lisa Gujer as a textile artist in two very diff erent art museums today.
