DESCRIPTION:With / con Karen Michelsen Castañón (Visual Artist / Artista vi
sual)\n\nTextile histories\, colonialism and modernities – the artist Kare
n Michelsen Castañón takes up these threads in her tour and addresses the
following questions: How are these themes intertwined? And which threads d
o Lise Gujer's tapestries offer in order to engage in a conversation on ar
t histories?\n\nKaren Michelsen Castañón (born in Lima\, Peru) is a visual
artist\, filmmaker and freelance researcher. Her work deals with the way
(colonial) histories are told and includes short films\, photographs and t
extiles. She questions how both hegemonic and invisible stories are re-sta
ged in our everyday lives and how this relates to current social events.\n
\nThis event is part of Revisited. Revisited is a dialogue-based discussio
n format in which experts from different disciplines look at the exhibitio
n from their various perspectives and open up their views of the works to
 us.
