DESCRIPTION:With Meeting Lines (artist collective / Marcos García Pérez and
Carla Schliephack).\n\nThe works of art on view at the Brücke-Museum offe
r far more than just insights into their creators’ artistic minds. Like a
life-size scrapbook\, this collection also reveals the collectors’ biograp
hies\, work\, and networks – people whose names have often been almost ent
irely forgotten. But how can images tell us so much? In this four-hour fam
ily workshop\, we experiment with different narrative techniques by drawin
g together. We will create an album that holds personal memories and awake
ns the stories behind the pictures. In this process\, we will discover how
important memories can be preserved and passed on.\n\nMarcos García Pérez
and Carla Schliephack make up the Berlin-based art duo Meeting Lines. Tog
ether\, they investigate critical collective processes at the intersection
of human/environment and self-education/art. To this end\, they develop s
ite-specific drawing practices that involve copying\, improvising and play
ing. The reuse of materials is central to their arts education work as wel
l as their artistic practice.\n\nMarcos García Pérez studied fine arts at
the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and graduated from the UdK Berlin
in 2020 in the Art in Context programme. Since then\, he has worked as an
independent artist and art educator.\n\nAfter earning a B.A. in fashion de
sign\, Carla Schliephack was a master student in the Sculpture Department
at the weißensee academy of art berlin\, a programme she continues to prom
ote. Through further training as a systemic coach\, she now works as an ar
t educator and freelance artist in Berlin.
