DESCRIPTION:Specialist tour led by Alina Gromowa (deputy director\, Stiftun
g Neue Synagoge Berlin – Centrum Judaicum). (cancelled due to sickness)\n
\nThe exhibition Biographies of Modern Art: Collectors and Their Artworks
introduces the eight Jewish collectors whose works are now on view at the
Brücke-Museum. The exhibition’s concept is anchored in provenance research
\, which aims to find and identify artworks stolen by the National Sociali
st regime. The exhibition honours the collectors for their dedication to m
odern art and serves as a reminder of the injustices they suffered under t
he Nazi dicatorship.\n\nDuring this tour\, museum expert Alina Gromova pro
vides insights into her work as deputy director at the Stiftung Neue Synag
oge Berlin – Centrum Judaicum and offers participants her perspectives on
the current exhibition. How can complex stories of Jewish life be told and
exhibited today? What role do emotions play in this process? And what per
spectives are relevant to these narratives? Visitors are invited to discus
s these as well as other questions with Alina Gromova during her talk mode
rated by the Brücke-Museum’s outreach curator\, Daniela Bryston.\n\nDr Ali
na Gromova is the deputy director of the Stiftung Neue Synagoge Berlin – C
entrum Judaicum\, where she heads the Department of Exhibitions\, Collecti
ons and Digitalisation. She worked previously for six years as a research
assistant in the Academy Programme at the Jüdisches Museum Berlin (Jewish
Museum)\, where she was responsible for subject areas on migration and div
ersity as well as the Jewish-Islamic Forum. Gromova is focused on new ways
of accessing collection work in museums and the role of feelings and emot
ions in curatorial and collection work\, both in analogue and digital cont
 exts.
