The director of the Center f or Persecuted Arts\, Jürgen Kaumkötter\, invites you on a tour and present s the artistic works of Dora Bromberger\, Leo Breuer\, Lea Grundig\, Eric Isenburger\, Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler and Oscar Zügel.\n\nThe Center for Pe rsecuted Arts is a museum of discovery\, dedicated exclusively to artists whose works and opportunities for development were blocked\, prevented\, o r destroyed by the dictatorships of the last century and by totalitarian r egimes up to the present day. It is an interdisciplinary museum\, and its collection of visual art and literature tells of lost and neglected works of art\, stories\, and fates.\n\nDr. Jürgen Joseph Kaumkötter\, (art) hist orian and director of the Center for Persecuted Arts\, is an expert on Hol ocaust art\, art in exile and persecuted art. In 2005\, he realized the ex hibition Art in Auschwitz 1940–1945\, which for the first time valued arte facts from the camps as autonomous art. His reassessment of Holocaust art was recognized worldwide with the book Der Tod hat nicht das letzte Wort. In his exhibitions and books\, contemporary art often communicates with hi storical works. The Süddeutsche Zeitung called his publication Himmel und Hölle zwischen 1918–1989 (published with Hajo Jahn and Hans D. Zimmermann) a 'standard reference work'.
